Canadian Museum of Nature Fun 2022
In early October, my partner and I returned from a six-week road trip across Canada. We were wowed by the incredible diversity and distance of our country's landscape. We camped in most of these amazing places and caught sight of many of the birds and mammals on display at your museum. Naturally, it was an inspiring experience. Naturally, I felt the familiar creative itch encouraging me to channel this energy into creating something. I was still trying to figure out what that could be when I discovered your job posting.
Once I'd finished reading the advertisement, I first checked to see if I had been struck by lightning, as that is how I felt. When I was sure I was okay, I ran down Gladstone to get reacquainted with the Victoria building. Here I took some photos and designed some display features over Thanksgiving weekend to show that I can do the job. I also did it for fun.
I can imagine no better way to celebrate and share my passion for Canadian wilderness than contributing whatever I can to the Exhibition Design team at the Canadian Museum of Nature. As my mother could tell you, this passion was born there. It would be a great privilege to continue my growth as a designer by learning from yours and by helping to build experiences for visitors of all walks and all ages that inspire them to get outside, look up and look out for our neighbours and our planet. What a planet it is!
