Learning Safety Activity Books   2022
Educational documents featuring colouring pages, activities and skill development drills. Developed for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police's Centre for Youth Crime Prevention.
Bike Safety I
Targeted towards youth aged 6 - 12, this product is built around a series of illustrations meant to bring a sense of fun to being a safe and responsible bike owner.
Bike Safety II
The rules of the road, maintenance checklists and security tips are some of the topics addressed in this first edition. These lessons are reinforced by various activities like spot the difference, connect the dots and colouring challenges.
Bike Safety III
Also included in the document are a series of drills designed to be conducted by parents or school resource officers to teach kids important skills in bike handling, braking and sightlines.
Safer Streets
Whenever they live, youth must face certain dangers whenever they head outside to play. Offering instruction on how to safely navigate bicycle use or tick-or-treating sets them up with the skills to play safe and knowledge to advocate for safer streets to family and friends.
Halloween Safety I
Also targeted towards a younger audience, this activity book is created around colourable illustrations which seek to address various safety concerns for youth celebrating Halloween at home or out and about in the community.
Halloween Safety II
Best practices for navigating residential streets at night, approaching strangers' homes with or without supervision and how to create safe spaces for others at one's own front door are some of the material covered in this product. These lessons are supported by colouring, labrynith navigation and draw your own costume challenges.
Halloween Safety III
Developed within a month, the second activity book developed for National Youth Services has been very popular, with requests coming in from teachers and police officers from across Canada. The document services its mandate as an educational product but does so in a way which is fun to interact with - an essential feature in capturing the audience and a defining characteristic of all NYS products.
